Ice Melting On Jehovah

The Fall “Midnight Aspen” – This track from the forthcoming album Fall Heads Roll finds Mark E. Smith in an uncommonly pensive mood. In fact, it’s one of the few songs in the entire Fall catalog that I would describe as being “soothing.” Smith keeps his vocals sedate and minimal, wisely keeping the emphasis of the track on the melodies of the instrumental, allowing the music to set the scene while his lyrics provide context and detail.
