I don't know or care much about Murphy's personal life, but judging from the album (which is fair, since that's where this line is), his love life is a total apocalypse. So some of the things he calls "wasting time", I might call, "nurturing a happy and healthy relationship." So there's that. On the other hand, he does seem to know this. After all, he starts the album off by wishing he could be broken into bigger pieces so some of him can be home with his wife/girlfriend. In that light, the "time wasting" line comes off as deeply resentful of people who don't make sacrifices for their career at the expense of their love life, and outright contemptuous of those who waste time that they should be devoting to their career OR love life. Yeah, that line is pure evil.
