What's interesting is the idea that the song (and really the entire new album) represents the restlessness and futility of being young. After repeated listens of the record I am still wrestling with whether or not the record symbolizes growing up and taking responsibility, or if it lamenting the loss of youth. In a way I think it is both, youth realizing that they actually want to grow up and influence the world and their peers, but ultimately knowing that the society and culture that they live in will prevent them from doing so. Despite all of the energy, it's actually quite depressing.

Excellently written. I had always felt the same way about the song but with a strong sense of ennui for reasons I don't fully understand. I'm living in one of the most exciting times in the history of mankind. There's no reason why I should feel bored.
