re: robyn - had a very similar experience at a moby show i was at a while back. a packed club of (predominately) gay ’90s ravers reliving their glory years. that’s an insane combination.

During Robyn’s Pitchfork set, there were a ton of gays standing up in front of the stage (where I was). At least up there, the crowd was pretty awesome.

Yeah, I was kinda off to the side of the stage, and there were a lot of excited people in that audience. It was just nothing at all close to the intensity of the Webster Hall show.

The Robyn show in L.A. had the same amount of gay, which made it incredibly fun as we pretty much had our own little dance party near the back.

I kind of agree about Kelis. Flesh Tone is like a 7 out of 10 for me. I like every song, but there’s just a little something missing. Maybe it’s that her voice isn’t built to completely put a chorus over the top, a la Kelly Rowland on Commander? Still love her, but loved her a little more as a left field R&B chick.
