I have a theory or two about how they recorded this album to give it such a curious sound, but I don’t want to say it aloud because if I discover otherwise then I’ll enjoy the record maybe 5-10% less than I do now. We’ll just chalk it up to the mystery zone.

Love that funny little hiccup echo in the rhythm guitar part. I’m pretty sure it’s a simple delay pedal trick, but it really makes the song.

But who is the rider at gates of dawn? I hear the same narrator in there, but the reference is hard to pin down.
