I'm not sure I'd ever want the Fiery Furnaces to be "elegant" -- I like them being rough and tumble! Matthew is certainly an excellent musician and doesn't need to cross the line into virtuoso territory to create great music. I don't know if I'd want Joanna to be more raw. They're both such singular acts. That's really the perfect description for him, and it was a pleasure to watch him do his thing live. 2) The "Who's there" part of this song kills me every time. Two things:
