always some nostalgic feelings, when i come here.
first thought, when i read the headline: hehe, this is not this german groop from the mid 70s, eh?
but, as you say, it sounds familiar. also for me. and when i listened to it, i found out, there really is something similar to this former-times-lake. i googled amazon, to hear some samples. of course this stuff is reissued like so many other. i found a track called jamaican high. every, really every group in the mid70s tries to put some "reggaefeeling" on one of their tracks. even then, if the group is commercial as hell and there would be no need, to get a broughter audience.
madagascar is near fat freddys drop, the jamaican high near to steely dan.
the thing for me is, that both groups seem to preserve an oldfashioned style, which doesn´t hurt, pretty good for the moment....to be overwhelmed by something completely new in the next year. 2009 smells like 1975 so far.
