for me, having my teenages in the 70s in germany, dirty mittens are more kraut, than the super furry animals.
the small things could have been a track between amon düül 2´s 73 vive la trance and 74 hi jack.
but all in all many tracks of your side remind me of postcard, especially orange juice´s first one. nice to have a view every week here.
greets

@MATTP HEY MATT, DO YOU SUPPOSE THE INDIE ROCK WEB COMMUNITY WWW.MAKEOUTCLUB.COM TAKES ITS NAME FROM THE SONG BY UNREST? I THINK YOU SHOULD PONDER THAT. "INAUGURAL TRAMS" IS FUN, I HOPE/FIGURE IT WINDS UP IN A GAY SEXXX SCENE IN "BRUNO" THIS SUMMER

HEY I THOUGHT U WURN'T ALLOWD 2 WRITE ABT MUSIX ANYMOR!

It was well played btw. Especially Barack Obama.

This SFA song is really something. I read your description before I listened to it, then when it actually started playing I laughed, I think mostly because the German count-in reminded me of the Information Society. But it ends up that the rest of the song is rather funny as well. Not necessarily the lyrics (I will confess that I wasn't terribly focused on them), but the bounciness, the German interlude, and "Trams/Inagural trams," which turns out to be a phenomenal hook.

Anyway, your description sort of captures how I imagine a lot of SFA songs are developed.
