Well, the problem with cd mixes is that you don’t have to sit through every song to get them on the mix. Making them lacks a visceral element. And when you receive one, you can just flick through it — the beauty of the tape is that you’re kinda meant to sit through it, and advancing through it is more of a pain than just clicking to the next track.
