It's appeared on umpty bajillion of the ones I've made since. I've listened to it even more times (umpty bajillion +n), and I've decided that what I really love is the bass drum. Dum... dum-dum-pa. Dum... dum-dum-pa. I think that's where the hypnosis is. Underneath all that ethereal whispering is this frantic heartbeat, on the edge of panic. Is he excited? Afraid of being found out? Been up for three days wired on crank and caffeine? It doesn't stop long enough for us to figure it out. It's better than it sounds, all buildup and primortal scream on the first "I..." There's this sweet jazz trumpet (?) underneath the buildup, like the guy is on the march and spouting his Last Lesson. It's appeared on umpty bajillion of the ones I've made since. I've listened to it even more times (umpty bajillion +n), and I've decided that what I really love is the bass drum. Dum... dum-dum-pa. Dum... dum-dum-pa. I think that's where the hypnosis is. Underneath all that ethereal whispering is this frantic heartbeat, on the edge of panic. Is he excited? Afraid of being found out? Been up for three days wired on crank and caffeine? It doesn't stop long enough for us to figure it out.
