Elsewhere, Where Else?
There's not going to be a regular post here today, but my new Hit Refresh column is up on the ASAP site, and features songs from The Loud Family, Space Cowboy, and Rocketship. If you have access to MTV's Urge service (um, basically, if you have a current version of Windows Media Player on your computer, you can read it), you may want to check out my review of the surprisingly listenable Paris Hilton record on the Pop Informer blog. Also, my review of the absolutely dreadful movie Accepted is up on the The Movie Binge.

Werent you at Sin-e for Friction last night? Someone said you were, can you give us some tracks from some of the bands that played?

Matt, you have sold out.
Whore.

The Hilton CD has been streaming at AOL for a couple weeks, now. I’ve tried four times, and I just can’t get past Track #2. What’s not bland is awful. The rapping is awful, the beats are awful, the grunting is awfully hilarious.
But people should know it is streaming for free at AOL. Because giving more money to this woman would be a sin.

See, the second track is the one I really really like a lot. It’s my favorite Scott Storch track, unless I’m forgetting something really key. The rapping is fine, I have no issues with Jadakiss.
I actually do agree with not giving Paris Hilton more money. The internet is here for a reason, folks.

if by “surprisingly listenable,” you mean two killer singles, then right on.

Although I find “Stars are Blind” pretty bland, I did catch myself singing it yesterday. Let’s be thankful, guys, that she’s aiming a little higher than Jessica Simpson.
