She's Out Of This TimeMy Project: Blue "Messed Up...

She's Out Of This Time

My Project: Blue "Messed Up in the Heart" - Is this just how Canadians sing now? Was it like this all along, and no one ever really noticed? Or is it just the Canadians who write their own David Bowie songs? There's some lovely lead guitar in this track - it reminds of something rather specific, but I can't seem to place it. Any guesses? (Click here to buy it from My Project: Blue's official site.)

Busta Rhymes "Touch It" - Though this is hardly Busta Rhyme's finest hour as a lyricist (one "Wait" is enough for this year, thanks), this brilliant track from Swizz Beatz emphasizes his strengths as a vocalist, alternating between a slooooooooowed down Daft Punk sample and minimal, primal percussion. Excellent stuff, though I wish the lyrics were as good as everything else in the track. (Click here to buy it from DJ City.)

yeah I like this track too. the lyrics may not be that good but I like the way it switches on a dime from the “Wait”/”Play” ripoff beat to the amped up big booming drum parts.

My friend just mentioned My Project: Blue a few days ago (and what an awful name) and I felt mentally retarded for never having heard of them before. Now I feel less retarded. Thanks, Fluxblog!

Blue pulls from the destroyer/(poppier) frog eyes vein of things. nice enough influences -so much so i’d so take them over Messed Up Heart.

I love my project: blue. I think he guitar sounds like Pavement’s “We Are Underused”.

‘touch it’ destroys in the club

however, the vocals are technically very impressive

busta is great at riding beats

the beat could’ve been better, as the daft punk sample is a bit offbeat IMO

Thanks Matthew

It really is a shame about Bustas MCing, this is nearly as bad as that “Don’t Cha” mess, though the production is great ..

i disagree with jk. busta’s verse drastically improved “don’t cha”, to the point where i’d hear the intro, change stations, come back about 2 minutes later and think i’d happened across something good til the girls started singing again. i’ll be damned if he doesnt have the same effect with most other guest spots he does.
