The Seal Cub Clubbing Club “Chase Scene”...

Let’s Keep Things Very Simple Today, Okay?

The Seal Cub Clubbing Club “Chase Scene” - Anxious British new wavers with hilarious name play the Grand Old Opry; audience trade their cowboy hats for asymmetrical haircuts. (Click here to visit the Seal Cub Clubbing Club’s official website.)

Brakes “Heard About Your Band” - Anxious British indie punks dis an obnoxious, name-dropping careerist who chats up his band with them between sets at a Liars show. Kiss off comes in the form of a spirited “whatever, dude!” in a mock American accent. (Click here to visit the Brakes website.)

Great track today by Brakes. Very British. Very catchy (listened to it probably 10 times in a row already…granted its only 1:30 long). Taking stabs at someone who listens to Liars, Yeah Yeahs Yeahs and Electrelane is a fun topic!

i kind of really want to hear that Seal Club… song, just because of the band name. Will I like it?

Did Christgau take over Fluxblog today?

  4. Chris says:

You know, that first blurb would’ve worked quite well on Video Treatment Day as well.

The Brakes…good stuff. the “all night disco party” video on their website is cool. Reminds me of Clinic.

just like to say that ‘chase scene’ is not really a very good representation of theSCCC. That was one of the first songs we ever wrote together as a band and is just a piss take really. We never released it and that version is pretty shit quality TOO MUCH REVERB!! damn studio. I have no idea how it came to be on the internet, on this site, or indeed aywhere really. If you want an accurate experience of the Seal club clubbing club you should get our single off roughtrade.com or come and see us play.
    thanks,

    john

Hey John - I very nearly posted the a-side of your new single, but I kinda liked this one just a bit more, even if it didn’t really represent your band very accurately. I found the track on p2p after I found out about your band and went looking for samples because I liked your name. It’s a really good song though, you shouldn’t be embarassed by it at all!

I’m happy people like us, that’s all that matters. Thanks for putting us on here in unison with the brakes. those guys rock!
