Yeah, I like that record, that's part of why I sought out the new album. Right now, Pshychic is my favorite BD album, followed distantly by New Rock. It should be interesting to see how Pshychic is received over the course of the year. The only review I've found was sort of clueless and claimed that the record sounded like Stereolab, which it most certainly does not.

Did you hear the BD's 2002 album, I? It was loosely in my unranked top 10 for that year. If this is any indication, the new one's fantastic.

Actually, the funny thing is, I can't remember why I downloaded that Koushik song. I must have seen it mentioned somewhere late last week, and on Saturday morning, I found it in my new downloads folder. It was a nice surprise.

That's actually the first Koushik song I've heard - I haven't had much luck finding other songs online, and I found "One In A Day" over the weekend. I didn't get Sumo 18, but you did give me 19, 20, and 21. How are the other songs?

Yeah, I agree that the DFA mix of "Rise" is another good contemporary touchstone for this song. I've been meaning to post that one for a while, but I haven't since I really don't know what to say about it.

I saw Buffalo Daughter open for Butter 08 years ago, and the live show was great but I always felt like their albums weren't quite up to snuff. So thanks for this.

Koushik is mates with Dan & Ryan from Manitoba. He had a 7" on Kieran Hebden's (Four Tet) Text Records called "Battle Rhymes" a while back.

In 2002 Koushik did a 7" on Kieran Hebdens Text Records. "Battle rhymes for battle times", he´s coming out on ST white label series with some excellent "hip-hop mixes". He also did some work with Manitoba. He´s definately a producer to look out for. He´s got some nice 60´s Zombiés, David Axelrod vibes going on.

Wow - really dig the Buffalo Daughter track on first listen. I think it might be the type of thing to get less impressive upon further listens, but I'm definitely going to hunt down the rest of the album.

Koushik is mates with Dan & Ryan from Manitoba. He had a 7" on Kieran Hebden's (Four Tet) Text Records called "Battle Rhymes" a while back.

I saw Buffalo Daughter open for Butter 08 years ago, and the live show was great but I always felt like their albums weren't quite up to snuff. So thanks for this.

Nice one on that Buffalo Daughter track; that's a keeper. Reminds me a lot of the DFA's remix of Gavin & Delia; their new 12", which I think is out now.

Did you catch the Koushik track on Sumo 18, as well as the Stones Throw sampler? Check out the Nobody record on Ubiquity for more of that kind of stuff.
