The Patti Smith song was "We Three." Michael sang the first part of it in Philly and a snippet from the middle at MSG. R.E.M. certainly does not do "People Have the Power" every night.

NYC was really pretty. Michael's voice was nice and crisp and clear, and the guitar was just quietly strummed behind it. He just sang a verse, the 'new york cares' chorus, and the "turn on the bright lights" part, and the two choruses again. I'd love to get a copy. Interpol should be really flattered.

hi, i think this is the first time i've said anything on here, though i've been reading the site for a while. how did their cover of NYC sound? i'd be really curious to hear that... as well as Life And How To Live It."

btw, you can hear a high-quality stream of one or two full shows at remhq.com -- if you can get the QT player to work right.

Actually, I was kinda sad about "Everybody Hurts" - I've never seen them do that song, and I really love it. Since I've seen "Nightswimming" once before, I would've traded that for "Everybody Hurts."

"She Just Wants To Be" is much, much better live. It's less lethargic, and more anthemic, and Peter does a longer, Neil Young-like solo at the end.

Now that's what I'd like to see, a show where they don't do EH. If they could only drop 'She Just Wants To Be' too....

Sounds like a great gig. Haven't seem them do WLP since the Green tour. One of my faves...
